Doncaster Nurses have found the easy answer to raising patients who have fallen, are uninjured, but need rescuing from the floor. Irrespective of whether it's a hospital or a day centre floor, or indeed if the patient is lying on the floor of their own home, Doncaster Nurses even carry this emergency solution on their Transport Ambulance!
We do have times when people fall and an ambulance is called. With this resource it will certainly help our wardens and overcome the problem of carers being unable to lift people.

If a service user could not weight bare, then we could not asset them back to their feet and would require assistance from other organisations. We have an Elk in each car with a charged compressor and staff have them readily available. Sometimes the Elk can be used 2-3 times each day, particular service users do prefer the Elk to be used and if fallen they will state over alarm " I need a responder and a lifting cushion
