Mangar International wins substantial European Training Investment

Presteigne, UK – 4th July 2011 – Mangar International, a 30 year old family owned company based in Presteigne, Wales has won a significant funding opportunity which acknowledges exciting future scope & prospects for this local company.

Skills Growth Wales is a European Social Fund supported scheme providing financial support for eligible businesses in Wales. To win this investment Mangar International had to show itself to be in a position of specific growth opportunity over and above existing plans, which could be achieved through training. Mangar has been able to demonstrate that this investment in training will have a significant impact on its overall business performance.

Mangar has designed a training programme which will involve 80% bespoke workshops, projects and/or assignments mentoring/coaching to establish new ways to progress the company forward. The remaining 20% balance will be external specialist training.

The Welsh Office endorsed this strategy to take the company forward by awarding Mangar International with a training fund of up to £3000 per member of staff which would encourage and enable development through training. Mangar staff will gain internationally recognised ILM Management qualifications from Level 2 (GCSE equivalent) to Level 7 (post-grad equivalent), and other awards and specialist qualifications. Subjects will include Management, Process Improvement, Sales and Customer Awareness. The training which also covers coaching and mentoring will predominately take place during company time in the context of existing operational projects. This ensures the training is both practical and geared toward the needs of the business and its customers; ultimately leading to enhanced profitability for the company.

Mangar International’s Managing Director Andrew Barker said “Funding will enable Mangar to significantly upskill its existing staff to take full advantage of future opportunities and challenges. We are very much committed to staff development and this funding will enable us to fill skills gaps. Investing in our staff’s skills is an essential way forward for a progressive company like ours”.
